NIFSpain

Selling goods on the Spanish market

A foreign company that wants to sell into Spain needs a NIF to be compliant for tax and trade — and, in the large majority of cases, VAT (IVA) registration and EPR/packaging obligations layered on top of it.

What selling into Spain involves

  • A company NIF, which everything else is built on
  • VAT (IVA) registration or the One-Stop-Shop
  • EPR / packaging-waste registration for goods you put on the market
  • Frequently, a Spanish bank account to collect receipts

Marketplaces and distance selling

Selling through online marketplaces or shipping directly to Spanish consumers generally triggers both VAT and EPR duties. We register the NIF and then build out the VAT/OSS and EPR layers so your sales are compliant from day one.
