How to obtain a company NIF in Spain

Obtaining a corporate NIF means entering your company in the Spanish tax census through the Modelo 036. We assemble the file and submit it for you, so it is accepted on the first pass rather than bounced for a missing detail.

The Modelo 036 census declaration

Companies and entities register for Spanish tax — and receive their NIF — by lodging the Modelo 036. The form sets out who the company is, who represents it, and what activity it intends to carry on in Spain.

Information we usually require

  • Your company's certificate of incorporation or registry extract
  • Identification details for the directors or representative
  • A description of the planned activity in Spain
  • A signed power of attorney authorising us to file

No notarised papers, no travel

For the foreign-entity NIF there is no requirement to notarise, legalise or translate your documents, and nobody has to set foot in Spain. Once the file is complete the NIF is typically registered within 1–2 business days.
